Straightening teeth has become very popular amongst adults now because of the availability of treatments such as Invisalign. Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners that are changed every 1-2 weeks to gently move teeth into a better position.
The clear aligners are virtually invisible, no one would be aware that you are having your teeth straightened. Aligners should be worn for 20 hours a day and can be removed for cleaning and for eating.
Treatment times vary depending on the range of tooth movements required but range from 6 to 18 months.
When you attend for your Invisalign assessments we will scan your teeth with our 3D scanner and from this we are able to project how your treatment will progress. This “ClinCheck” is yours to take home with you digitally and is a great reminder at how your treatment is progressing.
We also offer Invisalign to teenagers and the full range of Invisalign clear aligner treatments.
You will be seen by Dr Harmeet Grewal, who has a special interest in orthodontics, or Dr Upen Vithlani who has experience in more complex orthodontic cases. They will spend time with you assessing the alignment of your teeth and discuss with you the merits of the different types of orthodontic appliances to help guide you. We will also discuss costs and timescales so you can be confident in your chosen path, as well as provide comprehensive finance options to you.
The initial consultation will assess your suitability and answer any questions you may have on Invisalign. Once you’re on board, you will plan your treatment with either Upen or Harmeet. Our team will take impressions and photos of your teeth to establish whether Invisalign is the right option for you.
A detailed treatment plan and 3D simulation will be formed, that will allow you to see what your teeth will end up looking like, before the treatment has even begun. Our ClinCheck® treatment software allows you to see a model of the proposed treatment plan.
Once you’ve reviewed and agreed on your treatment, Invisalign will make a series of aligners personalised to your teeth. Each aligner is slightly different, moving your teeth gradually little by little, week by week into the desired position. The aligners are discreet and comfortable to wear.
You wear each aligner for two weeks, before moving on to the next in the series, only taking them out to eat, drink, brush and floss your teeth as normal. You shouldn’t experience much pain and the aligners are usually very comfortable to wear.
We will see you every 4-6 weeks during your treatment until your teeth are straightened into the positions that we have prescribed, until it is determined that your treatment is complete. The average treatment time is 9-18 months.
We use SmileMate which allows us to analyse your teeth simply from photographs in order to assess if you need orthodontic treatment.
If you are a good teeth straightening candidate, our orthodontists will work with you to provide the teeth straightening treatment remotely, utilising the latest AI and technology to track your teeth straightening progress. Upload your photos to see how achieving your perfect smile is more convenient than ever.
