01 Aug 9 Years of The Grove Practice
Wow! 9 years really has flown by for us. That’s a long time though so do bear with us on this long post.
We took over the practice on 1st August 2014 joining a team of 9 people to make it 11, and now have grown steadily into a team of 21 people including ourselves! As you can imagine with any business there have been rollercoasters with challenges as well as amazing moments and lots of fun. We’ve seen the practice grow from being just 3 surgeries downstairs to now an upstairs suite with 2 more dental rooms and a high tech x-ray and CBCT scanning room, along with embracing the journey with all the digital tech dentistry offers us.
There’s been lots of change and in many ways not so much change – in our core values.
Our aim at the practice was to build a team that cares for patients as people, not just teeth and put the needs of our patients at the very heart of all our decisions. Our focus is delivering high quality oral health care, to a high standard that we would be pleased to give to our family and friends too and we feel each year we are achieving towards that goal. The rewards for us are seeing people grow – in our team and in our patients when we impact positive change in their lives.
At the very heart of all the change and growth, it’s very much been the team.
All of them, both past and present and we are grateful to you all for being part of the journey so far. Since 2018 and in the last few years, we’ve seen much more come into the practice and that’s thanks to the some fabulous additions to the practice, with our practice manager Jen Blakeman at the helm now for 5 years and our dentists, therapists and hygienists now a team of 7 clinicians pushing ahead with delivering super standards of dentistry and in the middle of that we have our long-standing team members and new members that don’t feel like new members anymore – just part of the family – keeping it all ticking with their super caring and hard working attitudes. We would love to name everyone here as they are all super important to us.
If you haven’t had a look at our team on the website please do and check out the tags of some of the people who have been part of our journey so far!
We are really grateful to have amazing patients and to have really got to know everyone so well. Thank you to all of our patients for giving us the opportunity to support you in your journey be it a new straight smile, a new tooth (or set of teeth!), healthy gums, a healthy bite or spotting underlying health issues. The biggest learning for us is seeing our work years down the line and in everything we do, it’s planning for lifelong care. This is quite important to us. When we check your teeth 5 or 10 years down the line and spot our own fillings, we want to feel proud that we did that – all our clinicians feel this way. And our team helps to deliver that and without them it all really does fall down.
Next year is 10 years – we’re hoping for a big celebration, so watch this space!
